The Boathouse (Boathouse DTK) is a proud member of the vibrant, multifaceted, and diverse hospitality scene in Kitchener-Waterloo. As representatives of this inclusive community and as responsible business practitioners, we at The Boathouse prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone that enters our space – from staff to guests.
We are committed to the prevention of any and all violence and/or harassment within our environment, and will take whatever steps are reasonable to protect our workers and guests from intolerance, disrespect, or harm.
The Boathouse commits to:
- Upholding ourselves as advocates of our values
- Providing a safe space for staff to work and guests to enjoy our facility
- Look for ways to continually engage with and support our community
- Conduct business in a mindful, respectful, and positive manner
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, courtesy, and appreciation
- Zero tolerance when it comes to harassment, discrimination, or bullying of any kind towards staff and/or guests
These standards apply to all workers, guests and visitors, service and contract employees, delivery persons, and volunteers; everyone is expected to uphold this Code of Conduct and work together in preventing prejudice.
All employees and guests are encouraged to raise any concerns regarding harassment or violence and to report any violent incidents or threats as soon as they arise. Immediately informing staff, a supervisor, manager, or one of our HR contacts is the first course of action in addressing any observed violence or harassment. Management pledges to investigate and deal with all incidents and complaints of workplace violence in a fair and timely manner, respecting the privacy of all concerned as much as possible.
